LATIN AMERICAN LUNAR PROGRAM

Program Description
Program Description
The goal is to start a seed program to call for a technological development program in order to research and acquire space technology that enables a wide variety of organizations, countries and even individuals to be able to contribute and participate in a future Moon Village.
The idea of this program was envisioned by Ecuadorian and Colombian civilian space agencies, which created a joint venture called "The Colombo-Ecuadorian Lunar Program", even though it is open for all Latin American countries who are willing to participate.
The means of this program are EXA (Ecuadorian Space Agency) and AEC (Colombian Space Agency) which will provide the technology, work and funds to develop the program; backed by Astrobotics, a space transportation system company, which will facilitate delivery of its payloads and vehicles in cis-lunar space at a reasonable cost. Rbcsignals will provide ground station operations.
How it Works?
LAC LUNAR PROGRAM PLATFORM OVERVIEW

PHASE 1: LUNAR ORBIT - It is set to start in 2020-2021 with the insertion of an ARTEMIS-class 2U cubesat in lunar orbit, the main payload will be a LASER communications array able to deliver Internet traffic at no less than 100Mbps. The in-orbit detector will be an Indian SHARMA-class 2U cubesat in low earth orbit and the ground detector will be an IRVINE-class laser ground station receiver.

PHASE 2: LUNAR GROUND - It is set to start in 2024-2025 with the lunar landing of a TAURUS-class ground vehicle, the main payload will be a LASER communications array able to deliver Internet traffic at no less than 1000 Mbps. The in-orbit detector will be the American IRVINE08 1U cubesat in low earth orbit and the ground detector will be an IRVINE-class laser ground station receiver.
